Meta-Programming through the Circuits of Consciousness

Our mission this burn was to experiment with Timothy Leary's 8 circuit model of consciousness on the playa...Of course, we only got through 6 circuits, but even that is an accomplishment with all the other chaos to juggle on the playa. We went out there to re-program aspects of our minds, and that is exactly what happened.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/8-Circuit_Model_of_Consciousness

Much of our time was spent in the Bio-Survival Circuit, as we built our home & had to protect it from violent wind & sand elements.

The Emotional, Symbolic & Domestic (socio-sexual) Circuits manifested in many different ways, sometimes with polar shifts, causing perceptions & feelings of extreme oppostites. (unity & isolation, trust & paranoia, desire & neglect, peace & rage, etc)

We experienced some of the other circuits simultaneously at times. Our best moments happened on the Neurosomatic & Neuroelectric circuits, with tantric merging into ONE being, and the meta-programming transformation which will be described below.

The single most intense experience we had was like a sling-shot into the cosmos. It felt like we were back in the womb...our vision, hearing and ability to speak had gone and all we could feel were our hands holding each other, feeling like liquid metal at times. When our ears began to work again, we heard high frequencies and strange noises like machinery and felt our bodies being rebuilt. I was able to crack my eyes open occasionally but could only see figures moving around. These figures were communicating with each other saying things like "the specimens will now be entering a temporary period of paralysis" and then it would happen just as they said. We had waves of feeling love & warmth, then feeling cold & death approaching. By sunrise, it became a full Samadhi experience. We got up feeling like we had shed our old skins. Possibly the greatest moment of our lives. We had a beautiful bike ride around the playa that morning.

Whether these were foreign inter-dimensional beings or inner projections of ourselves is irrelevant. Whether it was a lucid dream, time-space travel, or something else entirely, it definitely had a positive effect on us.

It is hard to believe that we both experienced the same things, while we were unable to communicate verbally to each other. But then again, not so hard to believe if you've been there ;)

Shifting Reality: Dream & Death

The relationship between dream & death is sometimes indistinguishable for someone who has shifted into another state of consciousness. For example: lucid dreaming, near-death experiences & meditative trance-states, whether naturally or induced.
What is it that these things have in common?
Death. Dream. Gnosis.

I rather like being in places where the rules are different than what most people accept as reality!

SAMADHI is a good example.
For anyone unfamiliar with the term Samadhi:
a state of deep concentration in the object of meditation, a state of being totally aware of the present moment; one-pointedness of mind, the highest stage in meditation, in which a person experiences oneness with the universe. Comparable to a death/rebirth experience.

Your Will being in sync with the universe can happen during lucid dreaming, or other altered-consciousness experience (gnosis). Therefore enabling you to control your dreams & your waking LIFE, if you dare.

What I want to know is, how do these experiences affect thoughts & actions? How many are actually ready to embrace evolution of the mind? And how many lose their minds in the process?

Red or blue, which pill did you take?

"In sleep we dream of only two forms of government--anarchy and monarchy. Only kings and wild people populate my night. Monads and nomads. But in dream we are never ruled except by love or sorcery, which are the skills of chaotes and sultans. We do not rule--but we cannot and will not be ruled..."

Neuro-Programming: Aquaphobia

There's nothing like the sound of moving water to calm me into bliss...

Oddly enough, I have spent the past 10+ yrs. feeling the exact opposite about water. I had a traumatic experience when I was about 10 yrs. old in a man-made spring. Something about feeling slimy algae in my toes, fish rubbing against my legs and seeing a WATER SNAKE swimming close that made me not want to even step foot in water again. Sometimes I even got nervous in the shower when the water would fill up to my ankles...even though I KNEW it was just the bathtub & nothing was in it...I have a crazy imagination. Every shower for the next couple of months was a session of subjecting myself to paranoia, but I did it anyway.

I have been slowly overcoming the fear since then, but now 10+ yrs. later, here I am up to my knees in water, without fear, paranoia, or anxiety, almost at the point of conquering the fear completely.

How did I do it? Neuro-Programming. I had to endure a number of mindfucks in the process, but hey, it worked!

It took me over 10 yrs. to overcome my fear of water, and now I understand why it happened. I had never been so intimately close to life in the water before. The fish were just annoying and uncomfortable, making me aware of my discomfort in social situations. As for the water snake...the serpent has always promised to bite me, even in dreams. I needed time to understand that it wasn't trying to kill me, but teach me the very lessons I wanted to know. And the symbolism of moving water was the understanding of death, which was going to become an important role in my life. Growing pains are a necessary part of evolution.

And now that I am ready to face them, all my inner demons (doubts & fears) are resurfacing in very defensive & destructive ways...I have become Kali, drunk off the blood of the demons she's slayed, doing her Dance of Destruction. Dark Protective Mother, illuminator of Death, Time, & Dream. The only way that Kali stops the dance is when Shiva sacrifices himself at her feet...the Destroyer, sacrificing himself in order to neutralize her destruction. Now THAT is love.
How I adore my Sadhu even more for being my Shiva.

I have thought about this a lot lately...if Shiva can find inner peace and self-control, opening his third eye to burn desire to ashes...then I can definitely overcome all the little things that are holding me back in life. Fears, paranoias, confidence issues, etc.

I believe that when Kali is shown honor, the difference between dream and reality is blurred...all is real, and all is illusion. It is in this state of mind that we will find our strength and overcome the things that are holding us back, whatever our inner demons may be.

I believe that when Shiva is showed honor, we will find our zen to react calmly, peacefully, & sincerely in any situation.

Freedom...Truth...Temperance...Tolerance...Humbleness

And this is why I say:
OM KALI MA! OM NAMAH SHIVAYA!

Natural & Synthetic Dread Locks

If you would like your hair dreaded & live in the Chicago area, drop me a line. Or if you already have dreads & need some maintenance assistance, I can do that too. I have been dreading & maintaining my own locks naturally for 3+ yrs. I also did the same for my morally supportive partner.

I will supply the necessary tools for the initial session and recommend some products & methods you can use to maintain the health & longevity of your locks. If you want me to touch them up for you, I am also available for monthly maintenance by appointment.

Pre-Dreading: Braid all your hair about a week prior to appointment, wavy hair is easier to dread. (or we can arrange a pre-dread appointment if needed) Wash your hair with residue-free soaps & shampoos to protect your scalp from itchiness & flakes.

Post-Dreading: Continue to use residue-free soaps & shampoos on your hair. You may want to take a trip to your local Beauty Supply and pick up a metal comb, herbal cleanser, weaving crochet hook, rubber bands, and some dread wax. I use Knotty Boy ;)

Initial Natural Dreadlocking process can take anywhere from 2-8 hrs., depending on the texture, length & thickness of your hair. It requires much manual labor on my part & much sitting in a straight posture on your part. The fee for this process is $40/hr. Let me know your budget & style specifics beforehand.

For example: Texture, Length, & Thickness of your hair, and how thick you want your locks to be.

Dread Maintenance (touch up) process can take anywhere from 1-6 hrs., depending on texture, length, thickness, & condition of your locks. The fee for this process is $30/hr.

I also have 4 years of experience creating synthetic dreads. I will custom make some Attachable Dread Falls for you. $40 and up, depending on the desired length, colors & fullness.

Styles include: Double-Ended or Single-Looped. Solids, Multi-colors, Twists (candy cane), Multi-Layered, Reversible (Double-Sided), Thin to Medium, or Medium to Thick. Each Lock is unique, hand made & sealed with a professional steamer.

Dread Falls may be mounted on stretchy elastic bands or claw clips to be worn as either 1 or 2 ponytail falls. Or you may have them loose if you prefer to braid them in to your hair for a semi-permanent look.

If you would like semi-permanent dread extensions, I am available by appointment for installation. Semi-Permanent Dread Lock Extensions can take anywhere from 1-4 hrs., depending on length & thickness of your hair. The fee for this process is $20/hr.

Here is an example of both Natural & Synthetic Styles:

Lucid Dream: Hang Gliding!

I did some Oneiric ritual work before bed last night out on the pier...but I wasn't expecting this!

I was hang gliding in some sort of underground sci-fi looking place with lots of big tunnels. Others were gliding too, it was a very competitive atmosphere. It was like a mechanical roller coaster where you just had to jump and hold on for your life. And no one was wearing any protective gear. The drop wasn't too far, but it would probably break some bones if you fell or hit the tunnel walls. I was kicking ass! I felt confident and fearless. It was one of the most intense dream experiences of my life. I know exactly how and where to aim my energy to make things happen...

When I woke up, I looked up Hang Gliding at a few online dream interpretation websites:

Hang Gliding
To dream that you are hang gliding, symbolizes freedom in your personal life. It also represents trust and believing in destiny.

hang gliding
Freedom, transcendence over your challenges, or rising above everyday life. To dream you are hang gliding means a freedom (or a wish for freedom) from the limitations of your own mental, emotional, and physical challenges - and those in the world around you.

Sleepers of the World

We offer companionship to seekers and dreamers, but sometimes they are hard to tell apart from the hiders and sleepers...

Sleep-Walkers,
Being half-awake will not suffice you.
You are brainwashed zombies,
programmed to rebel against anything.
Do not confuse Impulse for Intuition!

"Chaos is tickling matter again
and your experience of self is their foreplay!"

"The Wickedest Man in the World"

You have probably heard this phrase in reference to Aleister Crowley, along with more rumors of him being a Black Magician and a Satanist...

"Although he seemed to enjoy being accused of such things, especially in print, Crowley was none of the above. True, there is much in the imagery of his writings that is dark and at first glance very frightening. But when viewed objectively, no more so than that found throughout any number of traditional religious texts, Eastern or Western."
"It is clear, even in his earliest works, that he often over-estimated the sophistication and education of his readers, and that he took fiendish delight in terrifying those who were either too lazy or too slow-witted to understand him. The student must bear this in mind if he or she expects to get anything out of his writings."
-The Magick of Thelema, (simplified for the modern occultist by Lon Milo Duquette)

There are countless more rumors about Crowley, including those stating that he supported human sacrifice...and that he even sacrificed 120 children in a year himself! (This was not to be taken literally, but in reference to his sperm...meaning that he had sex with his wife 120 times in a year without getting her pregnant.)

He was definitely a clever trickster!

But before you believe all the "rumors", remember that the only way to truly know anything is to investigate it for your-self.

From my investigations, I have found that Mr. Crowley was and is a very misunderstood man, even to this day. Reading his works and corresponding with other students of Occult Studies has helped me to understand my place, and humanity's place in the Universe...through the practice of entering a Higher state of consciousness (Gnosis). I don't see how that could be a bad thing, afterall, even Monotheistic Christians, Catholics, and Muslims seek to achieve this Higher state in order to understand The Cosmos/(GOD). To each their own...

I hope this has cleared up any misunderstandings you may have about Aleister Crowley and Occultism in general. I would like to state that I am not a follower of anyone or anything, but an Experimenter and Engineer of the Mind. Thelema means "free will", and may you succeed in the following of yours!

"Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law. Love is the Law; love under will."

Rulers, Rebels, & Followers

In my research of cultures, both ancient and modern, I have so far come across many distinct, but common groups. There are three in particular that I would like to analyze right now: Rulers, followers, and rebels.

Rulers come in two groups on the grand scale; organized dictators and religious rulers. By organized dictators I am referring to ancient and modern governments, with all the laws and consequences that they use to rule. By religious rulers I am referring to the organized faith systems which have strict rules and punishments for those who oppose them.

Ok, so maybe these two "rulers" are actually the same in essence? Together, they create two more groups of people; followers and rebels.

Followers are people who submit themselves to be ruled by others, either by choice or by force. They might be unaware of the fact that they have a choice, be afraid to rebel, or be indifferent on the matter. The first two are self-explanatory (ignorance and brute force), while the last is a state of mind engineered by means of bribing and distracting.--The ultimate example of passive-agressive social-engineering!

Rebels are people world over who's main agenda is to abandon agenda altogether. They come from many walks of life, but the main two subgroups are: pleasure-seekers and knowledge-seekers. Pleasure-seekers embrace the material world, ruled by desire. Knowledge-seekers are ruled by intellect. Each denying what the other has to offer.

Hidden within these subgroups are more subgroups of seekers: Those who choose to abandon material possessions altogether, in hopes of understanding and becoming that which is above the laws of man. And those who's thirst and craving run so deep that they choose to live multiple lives, embracing and transcending ALL.

Throughout life, we (the non-rulers) evolve through stages of following and rebelling.

I have been the follower of rules, who did not know I had a choice. I have been tempted by pleasure-seeking, but never pursued it fully because my thirst for knowledge was stronger. Thus, I have been the rebellious knowledge-seeker, blinded by my own intellect. In my "awakening" from my blind intellect, I became an eagerly blind mystic, entranced by this power that I had tapped into. I became The Hypocrite who had unintentionally and unknowingly attained "blind faith". When I realized this, I became the Skeptical Existentialist; The Stranger; The Paranoid Hermit. After enduring much pain and solitude from my spiritual death...something happened. I realized that blind mysticism is a veil that sometimes needs to be worn before we are ready to understand what is underneath it. I realized all the stages that I had gone through in my evolution were necessary. Evolution/Change has become my belief. Intelligence/Ego doesn't allow weakness, but Wisdom does. At least it allows for Change.

TO CHAOS NOTHING IS TRUE AND EVERYTHING IS PERMITTED

and ever-evolving...
